Commonly asked questions
Will the local authority fund my support?
The local authority will assess your needs and if you are eligible for health and care funding they will fund your support to meet your eligible needs.
What is a support or care plan?
It is document that we write with every person we provide care and support for and their family. It details the way we will support the person to meet their needs. All support staff who provide care and support for that person have access to and deliver care and support in the way agreed in the support/care plan.
How do you get paid for the support you provide?
How will you keep me safe?
Payment can be received through several channels:
-
Local authorities, such as a council or the NHS.
-
Directly from the individual we support, when they manage their own funding budget.
-
Self-funding arrangements, where someone pays privately for their care and support.
Support staff follow information in your care plan when providing care and support which gives details of how to keep you safe. We recognise everyone takes some risks and will discuss and advise you. We will assess any risks with you and your family and work with you to put measures in place that minimise risks where we can.
Can I come and look around your services?
Yes, contact the service manager and they will arrange that with you.
What is a key worker?
A keyworker is a designated Support Worker who acts as the main point of contact and support for an individual receiving care. Their role is to ensure consistency and coordination in the person’s care and to build a trusting relationship. They also monitor and review individuals needs, care and support with them.
