Individual Support Solutions was founded in 2011 by Sarah O'Shaughnessy and Alison Malcolm who between them had over 35 years of managing Social Care Services within both public and private sector organisations. Since then the company has grown and we support over a hundred people a week with a Learning disability and employ over 60 staff.

Alison has supported adults with a Learning disability for over 30 years and for 20 of those years managed services for adults with a Learning Disability. Alison has worked in both the public and private sectors. Alison's qualifications included NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care and NVQ level 4 in Management.
Sarah has supported adults with a Learning disability all her working life. Sarah worked for local authorities in various roles before starting this business with Alison. Sarah's qualifications include a BA Hons (2:1) in Psychology and Sociology; NVQ level 4 in Care and a Diploma in the Management of Social Care.
Paul Smedley
Operations Manager
Paul has experience of managing a variety of services for adults with a Learning Disabilities & Autism in the public and private sectors. He has extensive experience of working as a Senior Manager in Health and Social Care. Paul is responsible for the daily operations of the services we provide which include Supported Living and Day Opportunities
