Individual Support Solutions was founded in 2011 by Sarah O'Shaughnessy and Alison Malcolm who between them had over 35 years of managing Social Care Services within both public and private sector organisations. Since then the company has grown and we support over a hundred people a week with a Learning disability and employ over 60 staff.
Alison has supported adults with a Learning disability for over 30 years and for 20 of those years managed services for adults with a Learning disability. Alison has worked in both the public and private sectors. Alison's qualifications included NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care and NVQ level 4 in Management.
Sarah has supported adults with a Learning disability all her working life. Sarah worked for local authorities in various roles before starting this business with Alison. Sarah's qualifications include a BA Hons (2:1) in Psychology and Sociology; NVQ level 4 in Care and a Diploma in the Management of Social Care.
Colin has supported people with a Learning disability since leaving school and during that time has had 9 years experience of managing Social Care services for adults with a Learning disability. Colin’s qualifications include: BSc Hons in Social Work and Level 5 diploma in Health and Social Care. Colin has also worked as a social worker in a hospital for some of his career. Colin is responsible for the daily management and quality monitoring of all Individual Support Solutions Ltd Services.
